OpenAI has officially stepped into the advertising arenas but advertising on ChatGPT won’t come cheap. Your going to have to open up your wallet.
Prices start at roughly $60 CPM, that nearly 3x the cost of Meta ads.
OpenAI is asking select advertisers to commit at least $200,000 as it rolls out the beta ads on ChatGPT
That places ChatGPT advertising firmly in premium territory.

How will Ads actually work
ChatGPT ads appear at the bottom of answers in clearly labelled boxes when there’s a relevant sponsored product or service based on the current conversation.
Is ChatGP ads currently worth the cost..
ChatGPT ads don’t resemble a traditional ROAS-driven channel. The experience feels closer to early podcast advertising or premium sponsorships.
High visibility and strong brand association, but limited performance signals. It’s still early, and it shows.
Currently at launch ad reporting appears to include only basic metrics like impressions and click they are currently not offering conversion tracking and no attribution modelling.
What does this mean for your Advertising Strategy
- Currently ChatGPT ads are not a replacement for Meta or Google unless you comfortable to putting your ads out with very limited data in return.

Final Thoughts
ChatGPT ads are currently too expensive, experimental and still lack a lot of data metrics. But expect the platform to grow and develop costs may reduce and new features will come which will make this platform more compelling to use.
